EVD: Clayton Ave
Classic style and timeless materials turn this space into a breathtaking heart of the home. From the appliances to the Taj Mahal quartz countertop, it all comes together to provide a functional a visual place for my clients to create memories with their family.
My clients design goals were to update their dated high gloss thermofoil kitchen into a welcoming space for their friends and large family to enjoy. They love to cook and to host parties, so an open floor plan and lots of lighting were fundamental.
This was an amazing project with a wide open space and budget. Some challenges I faced were integrating all the appliances into the space and still having plenty of storage for this family of 6. Of course no renovation is complete without a hiccup and that was the discovery of some plumbing pipes dropped below the finished ceiling height. I masked this by integrating a pull out pantry (far right).
My design goals were to accommodate 11 appliances, the needs and wants of my clients while providing a timeless space they will be proud to host many parties to come. To do this we took 2 spaces (Spice Kitchen & Main Kitchen) and opened them up into 1 large and functional space. We also opened up the wall to the patio by installing a large folding door to maximize the natural light and open up to have a greater space in the summer months.
Form as much as function was a driving force in the selection process of the appliances. My Clients wanted that wow factor as you walk into the kitchen and there is no denying that is what you get when you see the Wolf 60″ Dual Range with a custom made cast stone hood.
